NBA YoungBoy has been slapped with a suit after a young woman claimed she was severely injured after she was thrown off stage during one of his shows.
According to STLToday, a woman is suing the “Fresh Prince Of Utah” rapper for injuries she claims she suffered when she was thrown from the stage during a 2019 concert in north St. Louis County.
NBA YoungBoy, real name Kentrell Gaulden, was performing at The Ambassador music venue when Cayden Rutherford got on stage. Although, Youngboy himself was not directly involved in the incident, an unspecified person working the show threw Cayden from the stage during his set, when she landed on the concrete floor, the lawsuit, alleges.
The lawsuit, filed on June 1 in St. Louis County went on to claim that Rutherford suffered a concussion as well as injuries to her neck, back and ankle — all of which continue to cause physical and mental anguish in her day-to-day life.
Rutherford’s attorney, Brad Elkin of Cofman Townsley, argues that NBA Youngboy’s history of altercations with fans — notably at performances in Minnesota, Virginia and South Carolina — indicate a pattern which should have signaled The Ambassador, Major Entertainment LLC, and a security company called Elite Security to up their security efforts. But, they failed to do so.
In turn, Rutherford is seeking monetary damages from the rapper, the venue, promoter and security company. NBA YoungBoy has not yet responded to the suit.
The rapper recently made headlines due to his longstanding beef with Lil Durk. During a wide-ranging Off the Record interview with Akademiks, the OTF front man rejected claims that NBA YoungBoy was the reason he delayed the release of Almost Healed. The album was due to drop on May 12, the same day as YoungBoy’s Richest Opp, until it was pushed back to May 26 at the last minute.
